Bright and Fabulous
This bedroom has beautiful and bright Shirley Wright paintings. The client wanted to have a bright and
fun theme in the fabrics for the bedding and window treatments. Research at the Seattle Design
Center lead me to the combination of 5 different fabrics from Robert Allen.
The custom fabric shade has pleats that share the same fabric as the pillow shams and curtains that
outline the window and create balance. The shade has hand tied tassel fringe from Trimland with
matching tassels on the pulls.
Small curtains were used to get a tight seal on the outer edges of the window to block out the light for
sleeping. The shade comes down at night and is lined with blackout lining. The shade and curtains
have beautiful details. The top of the shade has French gimp attached and the curtains have been
inner-lined with blackout and then lined with the same fabric as the bedding, upholstered buttons, ties,
and cording in the same fabric as the cording on the bedding that joins these together and creates a
sense of harmony and rhythm in the room.
